September Artist of the Month ~ Ilene
We are always thrilled to have Ilene's creations with us! She is as diverse as she is artistic.

Ilene is an octogenarian, who has been dabbling in arts & crafts for many years. When pressed what many is, she stated about 40 years! After she raised her family of 6, she found herself with time to learn & create. Her first foray was learning to weave baskets from her daughter-in-law. Ilene transitioned from painting shirts with her sister to painting gourds! A whole new kind of creating opened itself to her when she travelled to Hawaii to visit her son. Ilene has created one of a kind fiber art pieces from materials collected along her journeys. Ilene enjoys beading jewelry, & states the look is ever changing. Last night she sat down to do a bit of creating & the next thing she knew it was 2am! For Ilene, she creates as a way to "pass the time" and keep her mind sharp and she enjoys the sense of accomplishment this gives her. You will want to see what she has made! Ilene will have her wares with us for the month of September & she will be with us Wednesday, September 26, from 4-7!
